VNT believes that the delayed review of VRU matter results in losses of petroleum product cargo for both VNT and Ventspils Freeport. Therefore, VNT asks Ventspils Freeport Authority to specify the date when the VRU matter will be reviewed during the board meeting of Ventspils Freeport Authority.
Ventspils Freeport Authority informs that it inspected the marked potential location of VRU on 27 July (almost a month ago). In addition, it notifies about the commencement of works to define the condition of construction elements of hydraulic construction slopes.
Ventspils Freeport Authority sends technical regulations for VRU installation on jetties and a draft contract for direct lease of the land plot (600 m2) to VNT, although on 10 October 2016 VNT informed Ventspils Freeport Authority about its decision to change the location for building the VRU, due to experienced delays, to its own territory at Talsu Street 75.
VNT sends a letter to Ventspils Freeport Authority, expressing its appreciation for the decision of Ventspils Freeport Board to administer a lease agreement for the land plot (600 m2) and issuing technical regulations for VRU construction close to the jetties, the originally planned VRU location. VNT reminds that it has unfortunately taken nine months to reach this decision and that that the decision itself refers to the original building location for the VRU. Considering the favourable resolution of Ventspils Freeport Board on this matter, VNT believes that Ventspils Freeport Board does also not have any objections to speedily issue its favourable decision regarding VRU construction within VNT territory at Talsu Street 75 as communicated in October 2016.
