With a view to introduce students to the company and its internship opportunities, for the third year, ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” (VNT) participated in the Career Day organised by Riga Technical University at the International Exhibition Centre Ķīpsala on March 3. Visitors of VNT’s stand could find out about the internship and involvement opportunities provided by the company, as well as look at samples of different oil products.

VNT has been made strong in the terminal business for over 50 years not by the pipelines, shore-tanks and pumps but by the professional people of the company. VNT is hoping to attract and take as interns ambitious, inquisitive and open-minded young people who can take initiative and are enthusiastic about obtaining practical experience. Remembering the beginning of his career, the Managing Director of VNT Lars Pantzlaff revealed that exactly a career day event in 1997 is when he got his first internship, and a result – also his first full time job. What the company is wanting to attract most is future engineers, as they are the main ones to promote technology development and the company’s progress.

Being the largest and technologically the most modern oil and petroleum product transhipment company in the Baltic, VNT offers various internship opportunities in the entire company – technological processes, electrical engineering and mechanics, customs regulations, personnel management, health and safety, information technologies and finances. In total 18 people were hired as interns at VNT last year, inter alia, also from Lithuania, Germany and Great Britain. Additional information about internship opportunities is available on the VNT website:
