VNT receives the highest evaluation in Sustainability Index 2017

june 2, 2017 / News

On Thursday, 1 June, ““Ventspils nafta” terminals” Ltd. (VNT) ranked in the ‘platinum’ category in the 2017 Sustainability Index for the third year in a row, while the Ministry of Welfare granted VNT the status of “Family friendly company” for the second time within the Sustainability Index.

VNT participated in the Sustainability Index for the fifth year, and the achieved results are a direct evidence to the company’s corporate responsibility applied on a daily basis, as well as the company’s care for the well-being and safety of its employees and their families. In line with other responsible companies of Latvia, VNT regularly participates in the “Responsible idea market” sharing its good practice examples.

"Families are the backbone of our life, and as a company we try to do our best to building bridges between work and family for our employees. It is beneficial for employees and thus ultimately also for the company,” emphasises VNT General Manager Lars Pantzlaff. He also states that being awarded the Platinum category in the 2017 Sustainability Index does not happen automatically. VNT tries hard to work on its development year after year to get better, and this award is a result of commitment and excellent results of all employees.

Sustainability Index is a strategic management instrument based on the experience of the most influential global indices Dow Jones Sustainability Index and Business in the Community CR Index, and an internationally recognised methodology in five categories: strategy, work environment, market relations, environment and society or the local community. The initiative is supported by the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Institute, Employers’ Confederation of Latvia and the Free Trade Union Confederation of Latvia.
